Overview of Project
Treaty 8 Tribal Association (T8TA) is pleased to announce that we are undertaking a community economic development project: quantifying the economic contributions of Treaty 8 First Nations to the local economy, and preparing a community economic development strategy and a communications/marketing strategy. One of the goals is to identify and prioritize key projects that will create financial independence for T8TA and the Treaty 8 First Nations.

Doig River First Nation, Halfway River First Nation, Prophet River First Nation, Saulteau First Nations and West Moberly First Nations

- Identify and facilitate business development, expansion, partnerships and joint ventures
- Expand and strengthen Treaty 8 Development Corp. and Treaty 8 Energy Corp.
- Support job creation, career opportunities and capacity building
- Facilitate community economic development planning
- Provide base-line economic data of Treaty 8 First Nations to local economy
- Identify key messages and communication/marketing strategy for communities, businesses, entrepreneurs and members
- Support positive awareness and respect of Treaty 8 First Nations
